Privacy Policy
Introduction
Welcome to 100resumes. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our web application (the "Service"). 100resumes is built specifically for law students and early-career lawyers in India to tailor their applications.
By using our Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
When you use 100resumes, we collect the following:
Account Information: Your email address, password (stored securely and hashed via our authentication provider), and optional display name. If you use Google Sign-in, we collect the basic profile identity provided through that flow.
Resume & Application Data: The content you upload or enter (including education, employment history, and contact details), job descriptions you paste, generated cover letters, LinkedIn messages, saved opportunities from Cold Reach, and saved applications.
Person outreach (ephemeral): When you use Person outreach, we send the name and firm you enter to OpenAI for a one-time web search and draft generation. We do not store that person's details on our servers or in your browser storage after you leave the flow. Email addresses are shown only when tied to an official firm source with a link — have legal counsel review this feature before relying on it in production.
Usage Data: Events tied to your account (such as the number of distinct jobs analyzed on the free tier) to manage your access, as well as technical metadata about AI requests to monitor performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to deliver and improve our Service:
To parse, score, and tailor your resumes and outreach drafts.
To manage your account tiers (Free tier limits vs. Premium).
To securely store your "Main" resume and application library so your data is available when you log in.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse of the platform.
Our Core Promise: We do not sell your resume data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies in the application code.
3. Third-Party AI Service Providers
100resumes uses third-party artificial intelligence to power our tailoring and scoring features. We believe in absolute transparency about how your data interacts with these models.
OpenAI (Enterprise API)
Data Shared: The text of your uploaded resume, job descriptions you input, firm names, and specific prompts to generate outreach.
Purpose: To generate resume scores, identify gap areas, and draft tailored cover letters and LinkedIn DMs.
Processing: Data is sent via API to OpenAI's servers for real-time processing.
Zero Training Guarantee: Data processed through our enterprise API connection is strictly excluded from being used to train OpenAI's foundational models.
What is NEVER shared with AI Providers:
Your email address or account credentials.
Your payment or billing information.
Your IP address or device identifiers.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Your Control: Your account data, uploaded resumes, and saved applications remain in your dashboard until you delete them.
Temporary Caches: To optimize performance, temporary resume parse caches are automatically cleared within 14 days, and job parse caches within 7 days.
Account Deletion: You can delete your entire account at any time via the Settings page. Initiating this instantly erases your resumes, applications, saved opportunities, and generated documents from our active database, and removes your authentication account.
6. Information About Other People
Job postings you upload may name recruiters or lawyers. That information is processed solely to provide you with tailoring and outreach features. You are responsible for using these features lawfully and professionally.
7. Children's Privacy
100resumes is intended for adults entering the professional workforce. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy as we add new features. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here and updating the "Last updated" date.
